I. A wages and benefits package which represents a meaningful gain for the membership and reflects added responsibilities

  • Salary/healthcare package that represents a true gain for members
  • Protection against inflation
  • Defense of TIAA contributions
  • Maintaining the quality of healthcare coverage
  • Financial recognition of added responsibilities with regards to outcomes assessment and other mandates

II. Improved adjunct compensation and working conditions and benefits

  • Maintenance of the Adjunct Benefits Trust Fund for healthcare
  • Compensation for office hours and other duties 

III.  Improved terms of employment for NTTA's  

  • Clarification of terms of employment
  • Improved job security

IV. Fairer compensation for department chairs in exchange for added responsibility

  • Flexibility in the workload/stipend package
  • Recognition of added responsibilities in OA and other areas

V. Strengthening of faculty voice in governance

  • Defining the Administrations requirement to “consult” faculty
  • Strengthening faculty control over academic issues

VI. Sound, fair and binding distance learning procedures and compensation

  • Define intellectual property rights
  • Establish faculty primacy in implementing distance learning
  • Establish clear rules for compensation and workload

VII. Clearer communication and reporting in the ARPT process

  • Clarify differences in the reappointment, promotion and tenure processes
  • Ensure prompt and transparent feedback during the process
  • Strengthen the role of faculty academic judgment.
