Conditions of Employment Issues and Progress
Below
is a summary of progress on terms and conditions of employment that do not
pertain to salary and benefits.
Please
note: We are
engaged in “Package Bargaining”, a legal term meaning that no provision of
the contract is formally agreed to until the entire contract is
ratified. Therefore, the following is
an overview and, out of necessity, omits details which are not formally agreed
to as of yet.
Points
Singed-Off on (Will only become effective upon ratification of contract as a whole)
Rationalizing Library Workload to 9 hour
model:

165 working days per year

28 hour work week
·
Minimum 30 overtime days

2 months vacation
Probationary Faculty
·
Will receive 2 semesters of reduced load (6 contact hours)
during probationary period
·
Method for procuring start-up funds codified
NTTA
·
3 year contract possible after 3 terms of single year
contracts

Clarification of notification of reappointment
·
15% cap on total number of NTTA positions in full-time
faculty
Adjunct
·
Maximum 12 contact hours per semester
Senior Professor
·
Clarified procedure
Distance Learning
·
Intellectual property rights identical to traditional
courses
·
Distance learning courses and programs must originate from
the faculty
·
1 credit stipend for developing each course, payable when
course first runs
·
Class-size smaller of 25 or quota for analogous traditional
course
Peer Review
·
Multiple evaluation forms may be chosen
·
Form(s) used, departmental standards and DPC procedures and composition
voted upon by department
·
Administration and FRC informed of above in timely fashion
